Governor Greg Abbott attended the opening ceremony of the Wells Fargo Las Colinas campus in Irving, Texas. The event included a ribbon cutting and a panel discussion featuring Wells Fargo CEO Charlie Scharf, Irving Mayor Rick Stopfer, TV personality Mike Rowe, and other officials.
Speaking at the event, Governor Abbott said, “The Texas economy is becoming more diversified to signify our might as a financial capital. To make sure it stays that way, the Texas economy focuses not on where we are, but where we are going. We need financial institutions and the ability for all our growing businesses to have access to capital, and that is exactly what Wells Fargo is providing.”
During the panel discussion, Abbott highlighted that Wells Fargo’s new corporate office in Irving-Las Colinas represents one of the largest real estate investments in the area in two decades. He said this partnership would benefit both Wells Fargo and the local community. The governor also described Texas as a place expanding opportunities for businesses and individuals.
Abbott expressed gratitude to Wells Fargo for its donation to support families affected by recent flooding in Kerrville.
Photos from the event will be made available at a later date.
