Union members in Washington, D.C., have set up a food pantry to support the community as the government shutdown continues beyond 30 days. The initiative provides canned goods to anyone in need and seeks donations for local food banks. These efforts are especially aimed at helping laid-off federal workers, including those who are members of IAM Union and NFFE-IAM.

With federal SNAP funding running out, the unions’ actions aim to address growing food insecurity among affected workers and their families.
