The Education Standards Advisory Committee (ESAC) of the Texas Real Estate Commission convened on January 12, 2026, to introduce new members and discuss future projects related to real estate education in the state.

Three individuals joined the committee: Alisha Austin and Mitch Rainey as license holder members, and Roxie Glenn as a public member. Committee leaders thanked them for their commitment to supporting ESAC’s efforts in advancing real estate education in Texas.

During the meeting, officers were elected for the year. Bill Steddum was chosen as presiding officer (chair), Cindy Baas as assistant presiding officer (vice chair), and Paul Silverman as secretary.

The committee’s next significant task will be a review of sales agent education requirements. This review is scheduled to take place after a job task analysis conducted by the licensing exam vendor for the Commission. The analysis aims to determine which knowledge areas and skills are most important for real estate professionals in Texas today. Subject matter experts and psychometricians will conduct this study.

“Once the analysis is complete, ESAC expects to review the structure and content of pre-licensing education courses.”

Due to the expected duration of the job task analysis, ESAC will not meet in April. The July meeting is anticipated to include thorough discussion based on findings from the analysis.

Upcoming meetings are scheduled for Monday, July 6 at 10:00 a.m., and Monday, October 5 at 10:00 a.m.
