Texas Mutual Insurance Company has distributed over $9 million in grants to 124 nonprofit organizations across Texas this year through two separate Request for Proposal (RFP) cycles.
Employee volunteers at Texas Mutual reviewed applications, focusing on proposals that align with the company’s mission to strengthen communities and promote safety. The community affairs team worked to ensure grant funding reached organizations throughout the state.
The first grant cycle, called “investing in generational learning,” provided more than $4.5 million to 66 organizations. These groups are dedicated to improving health and wellness for Texas employees and their families, enhancing early childhood education by supporting child care providers, and offering holistic support services alongside case management.
Among the recipients in Austin are Andy Roddick Foundation, Any Baby Can, AVANCE-Austin, CASA of Travis County, Communities in Schools of Central Texas, EGBI, half Helen, and Saint Louise House.
The second grant cycle focused on workforce development and safety training. This round invested in organizations that train workers—especially those in high-risk industries—in safe work practices, create pathways for middle-skill jobs that are currently in demand, and provide upskilling or reskilling opportunities through earn-and-learn initiatives.
Seven Austin-based nonprofits received grants under this initiative: The Arc of the Capital Area, Austin Ed Fund, Easterseals Lonestar, Good Work Austin, Goodwill Central Texas, Literacy Coalition of Central Texas, and Skillpoint Alliance.
“We’re honored to be partnering with inspiring nonprofits in Austin and throughout the state to create a brighter future in the communities we call home,” according to a statement from Texas Mutual Insurance Company.
