Texas’ economy grew faster than the national average in the second quarter of 2025, according to new data from the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA). The state’s real gross domestic product (GDP) expanded at an annual rate of 6.8%, surpassing the U.S. growth rate of 3.8%.

“Texas is where free enterprise flourishes and families prosper,” said Governor Greg Abbott. “Thanks to the productivity of our skilled and growing workforce and our pro-growth economic policies, Texas is where the American Dream lives. We will continue to cut red tape, streamline regulations, and invest in career and technical training to build on this momentum for a bigger, better Texas for generations to come.”

The BEA report also indicated that personal incomes in Texas rose by 6.4% during the same period, which is higher than the national increase of 5.5%.

Governor Abbott highlighted these economic achievements during a fireside chat at the second annual Texas Economic Development Corporation Investor Summit held on Wednesday.
