Kaitlyn Goodson, a Medical Assistant at the Heart Center, spoke with Fox 26 about her personal journey from being a patient to joining the medical staff at Texas Children’s Hospital. Goodson was born with Tetralogy of Fallot, a congenital heart defect, and underwent her first surgery at Texas Children’s when she was just three weeks old. Over the years, she had a total of twelve surgeries at the hospital.

Goodson later chose to become a Medical Assistant and now works at the same institution where she received her care as a child. She continues to be a patient herself, receiving treatment at the Texas Children’s Adult Congenital Heart Disease clinic. This clinic specializes in providing ongoing care for adults who were born with heart conditions.
