TDHCA launches online tool to help Texans assess homebuyer eligibility

The Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) has introduced a Quick Check Eligibility Tool to help potential homebuyers assess their qualification for mortgage loans. The tool allows users to quickly determine if they are eligible for down payment assistance and affordable mortgage loan options.

According to the TDHCA, “A few minutes is all that’s needed to help potential homebuyers determine if they qualify for down payment assistance and affordable mortgage loan options. And it’s FREE!”

The TDHCA Homebuyer Program provides down payment and closing cost assistance through a network of approved mortgage lenders. These resources are intended to help bridge the gap between a buyer’s available funds and the total amount needed for purchasing a home.

After using the Quick Check Eligibility Tool, users can connect with an approved lender who can guide them through available mortgage options as well as assist with down payment and closing costs. More information about the program is available at WelcomeHome.texas.gov.

The agency encourages those interested in homeownership to sign up for updates about new program releases, application procedures, and related news.
