TCEQ approves over $875K in fines for environmental regulation violations

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has approved fines totaling $710,923 against 23 regulated entities for violations of state environmental regulations. The penalties were announced following the commission’s meeting held yesterday.

The enforcement actions resulted in agreed orders across several categories, including nine related to air quality, two involving industrial wastewater discharge, two multi-media cases, one municipal solid waste case, three municipal wastewater discharge cases, three petroleum storage tank violations, and one public water system violation. Default orders were also issued for one municipal solid waste case and one municipal wastewater discharge case.

Additionally, the TCEQ executive director approved further penalties amounting to $164,737 against 52 entities on October 28 and November 4, 2025.
