TCEQ approves over $747,000 in penalties for environmental violations

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has approved penalties totaling $611,344 against 27 regulated entities for violations of state environmental regulations. The agency announced that the fines were issued across several enforcement categories, including air quality, Edwards Aquifer protection, industrial wastewater discharge, multi-media violations, municipal solid waste management, municipal wastewater discharges, public water systems, and water quality.

Additionally, TCEQ’s executive director approved further penalties amounting to $135,720 against 36 entities on January 27.
