TCEQ approves over $570,000 in environmental penalties against regulated entities

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has approved penalties totaling $457,872 against 13 regulated entities for violations of state environmental regulations. The fines were issued during the commission’s recent meeting.

According to TCEQ, agreed orders were issued in several enforcement categories, including four air quality cases, one industrial wastewater discharge, two municipal wastewater discharge, one petroleum storage tank, one public water system, and two water quality cases. Default orders were issued for one multi-media case and one petroleum storage tank case.

Additionally, the executive director approved penalties totaling $115,746 against 36 entities on September 30 and October 7, 2025.
