Nature’s Treasures, a well-known local business in Austin, has completed its relocation to a larger facility at 11055 N IH-35. The move was prompted by the expansion of the IH-35 Capital Express project, which required the acquisition of Nature’s Treasures’ previous site by the State of Texas in 2023. After working with the Texas Department of Transportation and their landlord on the sale and relocation process, Nature’s Treasures began searching for a new location.

The company chose a spot six exits north of its original address and undertook a phased transition throughout 2024. During this period, the Event Center moved first, with a temporary Crystal Boutique set up to continue serving customers while construction continued on the main store. The new location now occupies a 23,500 square foot warehouse surrounded by natural features such as lawns, trees, and a creek.

After two years dedicated to construction and coordination between tenants, landlords, city officials, and state agencies, Nature’s Treasures held its Grand Reopening on August 8. This event was marked as “Nature’s Treasures Day” by City of Austin officials and organized in collaboration with the Austin Chamber of Commerce.

Karen Richards, founder and owner of Nature’s Treasures, said she sees this move as an opportunity to better align with her company’s mission: “Karen Richards has always believed that nature has the power to revitalize the body, mind and spirit, and has made it her life’s work to share that opportunity with the community.” She added that reconnecting people with nature is increasingly important in today’s technological environment: “As technology evolves and surrounds us, Richards believes it is now more important than ever to reconnect people with the natural world…”

The new facility incorporates energy-efficient lighting upgrades and native landscaping efforts. Looking ahead, Nature’s Treasures aims to take advantage of programs offered by Austin Energy and Austin Water.

The Austin Chamber of Commerce played an active role in supporting this transition through partnership at events like the grand reopening.
