Clinical dietitian Kristi King appeared on CBC Radio Canada to talk about the science behind sugars, particularly in the context of parents and caregivers managing children’s sugar intake after Halloween. King addressed the common belief in “sugar highs,” noting that while it is difficult to fully understand all the factors involved, she has a clearer understanding of what happens after blood glucose spikes. “We end up having this crash down. What goes up, must come down,” King said.
