The Texas Department of Insurance announced on Mar. 31 that it will host a Speak Up, Texas! event in Nacogdoches on Friday, April 10.

The event aims to give residents the opportunity to share their ideas for improving the home and auto insurance market. Amanda Crawford, the insurance commissioner, will speak about current trends in home and auto insurance, offer tips for shopping for coverage, and explain how the department can assist Texans.

“I’m excited to meet with Texans and hear their solutions to strengthen and improve the insurance market,” said Crawford.

The meeting is scheduled at The Fredonia Hotel from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. In addition to attending in person, Texans can submit their suggestions online at www.tdi.texas.gov/speakuptexas/index.html.

Governor Greg Abbott appointed Crawford as insurance commissioner in February.
