Members of IAM District 776 gathered on March 24 to support unhoused individuals in the Fort Worth community by providing food and essential resources.

The event, now in its third year, aims to unite union members and the local community to address critical needs among those experiencing homelessness. This year’s effort included participation from District 776 member and Texas State Senator Taylor Rehmet.

According to organizers, the annual District 776 Homeless Drive is intended as a compassionate response that brings people together for a common cause. The initiative reflects ongoing commitments by IAM locals and districts to serve their communities during times of need.

District 776 Business Representative Eric Meriwether said, “Our retired President Paul Black shared something with me during his retirement party that I carry with me always: Never forget where you come from. I’ve always lived by that, and it guides everything I do for our members and our community.”

To mark another successful event, participants enjoyed classic Texas barbecue while looking ahead to continuing the tradition next year.
