Morgan Fischer, a labor and delivery nurse at Texas Children’s Pavilion for Women, has been recognized nationally for her efforts to combat human trafficking. Fischer was named the 2025 National Magnet Nurse of the Year for Transformational Leadership by the American Nurses Association.

Fischer has played a key role in developing and advancing Texas Children’s Hospital’s anti-human trafficking program. She has focused on training healthcare providers to identify signs of human trafficking and provide support to survivors.

According to KPRC Channel 2, Fischer’s work equips medical staff with the necessary tools and knowledge to respond effectively when they encounter victims of trafficking in a healthcare setting.

“I am honored to receive this recognition,” said Fischer. “It is important that we continue working together as healthcare professionals to ensure that survivors of human trafficking receive the care and support they need.”

Texas Children’s Hospital has supported these initiatives as part of its broader commitment to patient safety and advocacy.
