Governor Abbott schedules special election for Texas Senate District 4

Governor Greg Abbott has announced that a special election for the Texas Senate District 4 seat will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026. The seat was recently vacated by Senator Brandon Creighton.

According to the Governor’s office, candidates who want to appear on the ballot must submit their applications to the Secretary of State by 5:00 PM on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. Early voting is scheduled to start on Monday, April 20, 2026.
