Governor Greg Abbott renewed and amended a disaster proclamation on March 18 for several Texas counties affected by heavy rainfall and flooding that began in July 2025. The proclamation covers Bandera, Bexar, Burnet, Caldwell, Coke, Comal, Concho, Edwards, Gillespie, Guadalupe, Hamilton, Kendall, Kerr, Kimble, Kinney, Lampasas, Llano, Mason, Maverick, McCulloch, Menard, Real, Reeves, San Saba, Schleicher, Sutton, Tom Green, Travis, Uvalde and Williamson Counties.
The renewal of the disaster declaration allows state agencies to use all available resources to respond to the ongoing impacts of severe weather. It also suspends certain regulatory statutes that could hinder emergency response or delay necessary actions during the disaster period.
“I do hereby amend and renew the aforementioned proclamation and declare a disaster in Bandera…and Williamson Counties,” Abbott said in the official statement. He further authorized “the use of all available resources of state government and of political subdivisions that are reasonably necessary to cope with this disaster.” The order also suspends statutes related to transfer of bodies to families as soon as possible and enables flexibility in contracting or procurement if needed for emergency response.
