Governor Greg Abbott has declared October 3-10, 2025 as Manufacturing Week in Texas, highlighting the impact of the manufacturing sector on the state’s economy and workforce.
“Thanks to our manufacturers, ‘Made in Texas’ has never been a more powerful brand,” Governor Abbott said. “It is a symbol of freedom, opportunity, and innovation that can only be found in Texas. As the manufacturing capital of the nation, Texas is where today’s products are made, and tomorrow’s technologies are brought to life. Manufacturing Week reminds us how important it is to continue strengthening our workforce by providing new career opportunities for Texans as we build a bigger and better Texas.”
Texas manufacturers contribute significantly to the state’s economy, which now exceeds $2.7 trillion and ranks as the eighth largest globally. The state has maintained its position as the top exporting state for 23 years in a row and continues to lead in high-tech goods and semiconductor exports. Recent data shows that Texas experienced economic growth of 6.8% during the second quarter of 2025.
Last week, Governor Abbott attended an event marking Eli Lilly’s announcement of a new active pharmaceutical ingredient production facility in Harris County, reflecting growth within Texas’ pharmaceutical manufacturing industry.
Manufacturing Week aims to draw attention to job opportunities across sectors such as aerospace, pharmaceuticals, biotech, automotive, and others.
