Governor Greg Abbott announced on Mar. 17 the reappointment of Eric Davis to the Commercial Oyster Mariculture Advisory Board for a term ending February 1, 2031, and named Bradley “Brad” Lomax as chair of the board for a second term. The board is responsible for regulating the commercial oyster mariculture industry.
The appointments are part of ongoing efforts to oversee and support Texas’s oyster mariculture sector. The advisory board plays a key role in shaping policies that affect commercial oyster farming in the state.
Lomax, who is from Corpus Christi, works as a consultant and founded Texas Oyster Mariculture Consulting LLC. He also serves as chairman of the Texas Surf Conservancy and is a member of the Texas Oyster Mariculture Task Force. Lomax holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from St. Mary’s University.
Davis, from Mont Belvieu, is employed by Pappas Restaurants, Inc., serves on the Barbers Hill Independent School District School Board, participates in the National Fisheries Institute, and volunteers at Faith Family Church – Baytown. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management from the University of Houston.
