Governor Greg Abbott spoke at the Texas Association of Business (TAB) Summit, emphasizing Texas’ role in shaping the future of the United States economy. The event, titled “Texas Dynamism and the Next Economic Frontier,” included a discussion with TAB President and CEO Glenn Hamer.

“Texas is the blueprint for America’s future economic success,” said Governor Abbott. “We are leading America as the headquarters of headquarters, are the No. 1 state for job creation, and have no state income tax. We will ensure the freedom and opportunity that Texas has always offered will remain the beacon that draws people from all over the world to our great state.”

Governor Abbott highlighted several factors contributing to Texas’ economic growth, including a regulatory environment described as reasonable and predictable, absence of a state income tax, and a workforce that is young, growing, and diverse. He also pointed to recent investments by technology and artificial intelligence companies as strengthening Texas’ position in AI development.

Last week, Governor Abbott participated in an announcement with Google regarding its $40 billion investment in Texas through Google’s “Investing in America” initiative.

During the summit, Governor Abbott expressed appreciation for TAB’s efforts to connect employers, innovators, and policymakers to maintain Texas’ status as a pro-growth and pro-innovation state. He was presented with the TAB Champion for Capitalism Award in recognition of his work supporting economic growth in Texas.

Other attendees at the event included San Antonio Port CEO Jim Perschbach, Representative John Lujan, along with business leaders and state officials.
