Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Wynn Rosser, Ph.D., to the Southern Regional Education Board (SREB) for a term that will end on June 30, 2029. The SREB is an organization that works with states to improve public education from early childhood through doctoral programs. It was established in 1948 as the nation’s first regional interstate compact for education by southern governors and legislators who saw a connection between education and economic growth.

Wynn Rosser, Ph.D., based in Austin, serves as Commissioner of Higher Education and chief executive officer of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. He is affiliated with the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians and the State Higher Education Executive Officer Association. Rosser holds an associate degree from Kilgore College, as well as bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees from Texas A&M University. He also earned an Emergency Medical Technician Certificate from the School of EMS in Tyler.
