Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Elizabeth Factor and reappointed Jelain Chubb to the Texas Historical Records Advisory Board. Factor’s term will end on February 1, 2027, while Chubb’s new term is set to expire on February 1, 2029. The board is responsible for improving archival and records storage across Texas and ensuring that important historical documents from various periods of the state’s history are preserved.
Elizabeth Factor, based in Austin, serves as director and executive vice president of IntraBio, Inc. She is affiliated with the New York State Bar Association and the Southern District of New York Federal District Court. Factor also volunteers with Scrivener Company. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Columbia University and a Juris Doctor from Yale Law School.
Jelain Chubb, also from Austin, is the director of the Archives and Information Services Division and serves as Texas state archivist at the Texas State Library and Archives Commission. She is recognized as a fellow by the Society of American Archivists and participates in organizations such as the Council of State Archivists, National Association of Government Archives and Records Administrators, Society of Southwest Archivists, and Texas State Historical Association. Chubb earned her Bachelor of Arts in History from the College of Charleston. She also holds a Master of Arts in Applied History with a focus on Archival Administration and a Master of Arts in Library and Information Science from the University of South Carolina.
