Governor Abbott appoints three to Texas Holocaust, Genocide, and Antisemitism Advisory Committee

Governor Greg Abbott appointed Larry Levine and LeElle Slifer and reappointed Sandra Hagee Parker to the Texas Holocaust, Genocide, and Antisemitism Advisory Committee for terms set to expire on February 1, 2031, according to a Mar. 20 announcement. The committee is responsible for conducting studies on anti-Semitism in Texas, assisting schools, and working with public and private organizations to provide information and educational outreach across the state.

The appointments are part of ongoing efforts by the state government to address issues related to antisemitism and promote education about the Holocaust and other genocides. The committee’s work includes supporting educational initiatives in schools and engaging with various organizations throughout Texas.

Larry Levine of Houston is chairman of Levcor, Inc., a member of several professional organizations including the International Council of Shopping Centers, the Coronado Club, and Texas A&M University’s Association of Former Students. He served in the United States Army Military Police Corps before earning a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas A&M University.

LeElle Slifer of Dallas is a partner at King & Spalding Dallas. She holds memberships in the State Bar of Texas, New York State Bar, and the Federalist Society. Slifer earned her undergraduate degree from Duke University with a focus on Developmental Neuropsychology and Political Science as well as Judaic Studies certification before receiving her Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School.

Sandra Hagee Parker of San Antonio continues her service as chairwoman of the Board for the CUFI Action Fund. She also serves on the board for Aid the Silent and is a member of the State Bar of Texas. Parker holds degrees from Trinity University (Political Science), an Executive Master from Texas A&M’s Bush School of Government and Public Service, and a Juris Doctor from St. Mary’s School of Law.

According to the official website, Governor Abbott has led his office since his election in 2014 while focusing on job creation, economic opportunities, education enhancement, individual liberties protection, parental empowerment in schooling, and southern border security. The Office maintains its primary offices in Austin at the State Insurance Building while delivering services statewide across Texas according to official sources. Governor Abbott was also recognized among TIME’s 100 Most Influential People in 2024 according to official records.
