Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Lois Palermo and reappointed Danielle Franklin, D.D.S., and Raymond L. Wiggins, D.D.S., M.D., to the Dental Review Committee. Their terms will expire on February 1, 2031. The committee participates in informal settlement conference panels to decide if an informal resolution is suitable for contested cases involving license holders and makes recommendations regarding complaints or allegations.

Lois Palermo, from League City, works as a dental hygienist at Drs. Castille and Castille. She is affiliated with several professional organizations including the American Dental Hygienists’ Association, Texas Dental Hygienists’ Association, and Bay Area Dental Hygienists’ Association. She also serves on the board of Potter’s Smile. Palermo holds an Associate of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene from Del Mar College and a Bachelor of Science in Technology, Occupational Technology, and Industrial Studies from the University of Houston.

Danielle Franklin, D.D.S., based in Dallas, owns Sunflower Dental. She is a former president of the Oak Cliff Dental Study Club and serves on the boards of Duncanville Community Theatre and Duncanville ISD Education Foundation. Franklin previously chaired the Duncanville Chamber of Commerce. Her academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University (TAMU) and a Doctor of Dental Surgery from TAMU College of Dentistry.

Raymond L. Wiggins, D.D.S., M.D., resides in Katy and is president of Texas Oral and Facial Surgery, P.A. He is recognized as a diplomate by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, is a fellow with both the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, and belongs to the American Dental Association as well as the Texas Dental Association. Wiggins previously served on the board for the Texas Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. His educational credentials include degrees from Southern Methodist University (B.B.A.), TAMU College of Dentistry (D.D.S.), McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (M.D.), UT Houston Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (Certificate), and Regent University (Master of Divinity).
