Governor Greg Abbott appointed Terry Zrubek to the State Employee Charitable Campaign Policy Committee for a term set to expire on September 1, 2027, according to a Mar. 20 announcement. The committee is responsible for developing rules and procedures for the State Employee Charitable Campaign and reviewing the recommended campaign plan.
The appointment of Zrubek is part of ongoing efforts by state leadership to ensure effective oversight and management of charitable initiatives involving state employees. The committee plays a key role in shaping how these campaigns are conducted across Texas government agencies.
Zrubek currently serves as deputy executive director of Texas Economic Development & Tourism within the Office of the Governor. His previous experience includes roles in both the private sector at Newell Rubbermaid Inc., a Fortune 500 company, and various positions with Texas state agencies and officials such as the Department of Public Safety, State Senator Steve Ogden, Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, Lower Colorado River Authority, and Governors Rick Perry and Greg Abbott. He also volunteers as a tennis coach at Thorndale High School. Zrubek holds degrees from Texas State University and St. Edward’s University, along with completion of the Governor’s Executive Development Program at The University of Texas at Austin LBJ School of Public Affairs.
