This week, Governor Greg Abbott announced new appointments to state boards in Texas. JoMeka Gray has been appointed to the State Board for Educator Certification, with a term set to expire on February 1, 2031. The board is responsible for developing certification and continuing education requirements as well as standards of conduct for public school teachers.

Additionally, Paloma Ahmadi has been appointed to the Texas Southern University Board of Regents for a term ending on February 1, 2029.
