Governor Abbott appoints J. Brian Williams as judge for Rockwall’s 503rd district court

J. Brian Williams has been appointed by Governor Greg Abbott to serve as Judge of the 503rd Judicial District Court in Rockwall County. The appointment is effective December 1, 2025, and will last until December 31, 2026, or until a successor is elected and qualified.

Williams currently serves as the Rockwall County Court at Law Judge. He has previously served as president of both the Rockwall County Bar Association and the Rockwall Rotary Club. He is also vice president of the Rockwall County Open Space Alliance and holds memberships with the State Bar of Texas and the Texas County Court at Law Judges Association.

Williams earned his Bachelor of Arts in Government from The University of Texas at Austin and his Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law.

Governor Abbott said: “J. Brian Williams’ extensive experience in law and dedication to public service make him well-suited for this role.”
