Governor Greg Abbott has announced the reappointment of Perry Gilmore, Ph.D., and the appointment of Jeff Jordan to the Texas Crime Stoppers Council. Their terms will last until September 1, 2029. The council is responsible for advising the Governor on crime stoppers programs in Texas and certifying local programs so they can receive reward payments or probation fees as set by the Code of Criminal Procedure.
Perry Gilmore, Ph.D., from Amarillo, serves as a part-time professional staff civilian and reserve police officer with the Amarillo Police Department. He has 47 years of law enforcement experience. Gilmore holds a Bachelor of Science in Law Enforcement from Sam Houston State University, a Master of Arts and a Master of Business Administration from West Texas State University, and a Doctorate in Psychology from Northcentral University.
Jeff Jordan, from Kyle, is a sergeant with the Hays County Sheriff’s Office. He is involved with several professional organizations including the Fraternal Order of Police, Texas Municipal Police Association, Combined Law Enforcement Associations of Texas, Sheriff’s Association of Texas, Texas Crime Prevention Association, and the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals. Jordan also serves as executive director for the Hays County Crime Stoppers Association and chairs Hays County Brown Santa. He volunteers for Sunshine Kids Hill Country Adventure. His educational background includes a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in History from Texas State University, a Peace Officer License from Hays County Sheriff’s Academy, as well as advanced certifications from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement. He was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps.
“These appointments reflect our commitment to public safety and supporting community-based crime prevention efforts,” said Governor Abbott.
