Governor Greg Abbott announced on Mar. 26 the appointment of four individuals to the Red River Authority Board of Directors. Tonya Detten was reappointed, while Ron Mullins, Troy Weber, and Ruben Arias were newly appointed. The terms for Detten, Mullins, and Weber will expire on August 11, 2031; Arias’s term will expire on August 11, 2027.
The Red River Authority is responsible for managing the control, conservation, and development of the watershed and water resources of the Red River and its Texas tributaries. These appointments are intended to support ongoing efforts in water management for communities along these waterways.
Detten is retired and previously served as director of benefits and systems at PanTeXas Deterrence. She currently serves as board president for Highland Park Independent School District’s school board. Mullins is also retired and formerly worked as a utility regulatory officer with the Red River Authority of Texas; he has held leadership roles in regional water utilities associations and community organizations.
Weber retired from Texas Instruments and now leads Weber Advisors Inc., in addition to serving as a deacon at Parkside Baptist Church. Arias owns Custom Water Services LLC in Amarillo after retiring from supervising process control at Osage Surface Water Treatment Plant; he holds leadership positions with regional water utilities associations.
