Governor Greg Abbott has appointed David Jennings as the Student Regent for Texas Woman’s University. Jennings will serve in this role until May 31, 2026.
Jennings is from Sanger and holds an Associate of Arts in General Studies from North Central Texas College. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Texas State University, where he was awarded the Terry Foundation Scholarship. Currently, he is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in School Psychology at Texas Woman’s University.
The Office of Texas Governor Greg Abbott is responsible for making such appointments and plays a significant role within the executive branch of Texas state government, according to its official website. The office operates statewide and maintains its primary offices in Austin at the State Insurance Building. Since his election in 2014, Greg Abbott has led the office with a focus on education enhancement among other priorities.
