Governor Greg Abbott has announced that the next Governor’s Small Business Summit will take place in Eagle Pass on September 11, 2025. The event is part of a series held throughout the year across Texas, aimed at supporting small business owners and those looking to start businesses by connecting them with resources and information.
“Small businesses are the driving force behind Texas’ thriving economy,” said Governor Abbott. “With more than 3.5 million small businesses across Texas, employing nearly half of all working Texans, our state continues to lead in job creation and business expansion. I invite all small business owners and entrepreneurs to attend this Governor’s Small Business Summit or one in their region. Together, we will ensure that our small business community continues to thrive as we build a stronger, more prosperous Texas for generations to come.”
The summit in Eagle Pass will be held at the International Center for Trade from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. It brings together partners from local, state, and federal levels to provide advice on various aspects of running a small business. Attendees will have opportunities to network with other business owners and hear from experts on several topics.
Panel sessions scheduled for the event include guidance on deciding when to expand or sell a business, financing strategies, marketing tactics for growth, and basic small business knowledge. Joe Esparza, Commissioner Representing Employers at the Texas Workforce Commission, is set as the featured speaker.
Registration costs $20 and includes entry to all sessions, access to resource providers, lunch, and complimentary headshots. Those interested can register or find more details at gov.texas.gov/events.
Additional summits are planned later this year in Carthage (September 25), Denton (October 23; focused on women entrepreneurs), and Belton (November 13; focused on veterans). The Governor’s Texas Economic Development & Tourism Office also offers online webinars for small businesses seeking information about available resources. Recordings of these webinars can be found at https://gov.texas.gov/business/page/small-business-webinars.
