Governor Greg Abbott has announced a new group of appointments to several state councils and task forces this week.
Lindsey Gohlke has been appointed, and Romey Swanson reappointed, to the Farm and Ranch Lands Conservation Council. Their terms will run until February 1, 2031. The council is responsible for advising and assisting the Texas Farm and Ranch Lands Conservation Program in administering its activities and selecting grant recipients.
For the Governor’s Task Force on the Governance of Early Childhood Education and Care, Abbott named Peter J. Holt as chair. Other appointees include Jeff Austin, III, Leslie Callahan, Lori Gabbert Charney, Grant Coates, Reagan Curran, Tracy Hanson, Ed.D., Marisela Nava, John “J.” Puckett, Jennifer Stockemer, Ph.D., and Nancy Windham. Their terms will expire on September 1, 2027. The task force is tasked with addressing governance and operational challenges within Texas’ early childhood education system.
Additionally, Scott Charbonneau was appointed to the Texas Interagency Council for the Homeless. His term will last at the pleasure of the Governor. This council works to coordinate state resources and services aimed at addressing homelessness.
