Effective November 16, 2025, the Department of Savings and Mortgage Lending will implement changes to Section 55.110 of Title 7 of the Texas Administrative Code. These amendments address licensing requirements for military service members, veterans, and spouses seeking Residential Mortgage Loan Originator (RMLO) licenses.

The department stated that after November 16, the updated rule will be available on the Texas Secretary of State website. The adopted rules notice was also published in the Texas Register on November 7, 2025.

These regulatory updates are intended to clarify and potentially streamline the licensing process for individuals with military backgrounds or connections.
