Changing Austin, a podcast produced by Amplify Credit Union, is launching its second season on February 20. The show, hosted by Stacy Armijo, chief experience officer at Amplify, focuses on conversations with business, civic and cultural leaders about the changes happening in Austin and how those developments may impact the region’s future.

Season one of the podcast featured local business leaders including Mason Ayer of Kerbey Lane All Day Cafe, Chris Seals of Still Austin Whiskey Co., and Jamie Herlich of ZACH Theatre. The upcoming season will continue to highlight perspectives from a range of sectors such as health, technology, film, workforce development and higher education.

“Season two continues what we set out to do from the beginning, create space for real conversations with people who are actively shaping the future of our city,” Armijo said. “These are leaders who are working through growth, change, and uncertainty in real time. Each guest brings a different perspective on how Austin is evolving, and when you listen to their stories together, you get a clearer picture of both the challenges ahead and the opportunities that come with them.”

This season’s lineup includes Tamara Atkinson (chief impact officer and president of workforce advancement strategy), Ghizlane Badawi (CEO at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport), Jeremiah Bentley (vice president of marketing and community affairs at Texas Mutual Insurance Company), Hugh Forrest (former chief programming officer at SXSW), Alan Graham (founder and CEO at Mobile Loaves & Fishes), Dr. Kristi Kirk (president and CEO at Concordia University Texas), Joel Kocher (co-founder and CEO at Humann), Janice Omadeke (author and entrepreneur), and Sarah Pitre (head film buyer at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema). Additional guests will be announced later in the season.

Episodes will be released on the first and third Friday each month starting February 20. The podcast is available on all major streaming platforms such as Apple Podcasts and Spotify. More information can be found or subscriptions made at changingaustin.com.

Amplify Credit Union was established in 1967 as a credit union for IBM employees in Austin. It now serves over 50,000 members across Texas with digital-first banking services that include home loans, checking accounts, savings accounts, commercial lending and more. The organization has been recognized as a Top Workplace in Austin for three consecutive years as well as being named among the Top 50 Workplaces nationally this year.

The efforts to promote inclusive growth across neighborhoods in Austin align with work done by organizations like the Austin Chamber of Commerce. This chamber also seeks to enhance regional economic conditions through collaboration and advocacy initiatives while relying on board leadership to guide its activities (source). Covering economic interests throughout the broader region (source), it builds partnerships aimed at advancing both community welfare and business success (source). The chamber also provides events, programs, and advocacy supporting business growth (source).
